Ferguson trying to buy votes already...

$50, $120 checks coming to 400,000 Washington households from tuna, chicken lawsuit restitution

Bob Ferguson's office is providing $40.6 million in financial restitution to households whose income is at or below 175% of the federal poverty level.

So, he prioritized an 'investigation' against food suppliers - those suppliers will now increase prices due to this action, raising costs to consumers.

Further, they arbitrarily decided who they're going to be dispersing money to, regardless of who may/may not be 'impacted', which is a clear attempt at buying votes, and in my opinion, is illegal, due to the whole 'equal protection of the law' thing. Either everyone gets something, or no one gets anything.

Reports are already trickling in of people who have been dead for 22 years, whose relatives are getting these checks in the mail. Interesting to see HOW they're finding the data to send the checks out.. How much you want to bet it's voter registration rolls?

What a piece of shit Ferguson is. Lovely how his name is splashed all over that letter, including the return address of the envelope.

And then of course he gets the free publicity from the media stories.

Wish it was free, we're paying for his campaigning at this point.

The really shitty part about this whole thing is, there is no one to complain to. Don't all these kinds of complaints end up in his office?

I always thought the dead votes were free. He’s wasting “his” (our) money. The whole refund thing has always made me wonder. In order to receive a refund, one has to have paid in already.

When the judiciary is bias, and you control the legislature, the hand is dealt.

Unless something politically egregious happens…

One showed up in my mailbox, made out to my wife's ex-husband. He has never stepped foot in this state! They are not even looking at who the property owner is as I have owned this place for 20 +years. I had to write a letter, send it with the check and a copy of my ID so they can re-issue the check. Not sure why he chose my house to get one, we hardly ever get canned tuna let alone chicken?
