Re: LESA Pierce county CCW issuance.

It appears nothing has improved and my experience wasn't just some problem related to a holiday rush. It's ongoing and systemic. I'll be formulating another e-mail to the council. If no response is forthcoming, then a strategy for dealing with the issue must be developed.

LESA Pierce county CCW issuance.

Your not going to get very far. Even when it was in the court house it was always busy around noon and beyond. Just show up early and you shouldn't have a problem.

The challenge and excuse is always going to be budget cuts and lack of funding. You can yell from the top of the roof but in the end it won't change significantly.

Now if you get the ear of a county official that is symathetic to your concern you might have a fighting chance.

Well, so I got there a little later than I wanted. Took me a while to find parking, had to park in a 90 minute spot down by 11th and Fawcett and parked at 9:06am. Got inside and the place was pretty packed, grabbed a number and it was A014. There were probably 20 people in front of me with the majority being CPL applications and so at that point I just figured I'd have to eat a parking ticket since there was only one window processing all the requests. Well, numbers were being processed pretty quickly and low and behold my number was called a hour after I got there.

Was only at the window for maybe 5 minutes before I got back in line for fingerprinting. The last person that came in by the time I left had grabbed a A032 number and I finally made it out of the building and got to my truck at 10:35am :thumbsup2:

The fingerprint lady said the 30 days bit but she said it usually takes less than 10 days. So we'll see. On a side note, after I left there I went to the Tacoma Sportsmen's Club and signed up. :snipersmilie:

Dammit . . . I need to move before I have to renew my CPL. That's awesome.

OK, I went last Monday. Got there @ 7:30 AM and was the third guy in line already. Within 1/2 hour it was up to 15 people in line. Everybody who had been there previously said they were there the day before and had to COME BACK due to not getting in before 9 AM. The woman behind me said she had to come back just for fingerprinting, as there was too long a wait the day before.

I was processed and out within 15 minutes.

The joint was FULL when I left, and judging by the number of people I'd say that was the entire day's worth of applicants to be capable of being processed. It was 8:45.

Good luck guys.

Pierce County sucks!
I live in Normandy Park in King County and all I had to do was go into the Normandy Park City hall that is the size of a small elementry school. There was no line and one person multi tasking lunch, youtube and my permit application.
Why can't Pierce County let the local City Hall's do it and save a little money that way?

Because that would be too efficient and dip in to LESA's profits.

That's tough.

Thank you for contacting your Representative.

My first CPL was from Pierce County. The only problem was I went to the city of Tacoma first, they sent me over the pierce county. It was a long time ago, don't really remember much. Then it was through King County. King county is OK, but I do not like the location of the King County court house in down town Seattle, going their is a good reason to carry concealed. The serif offices who man the court house are very nice, and accommodate CC pretty well. The best by far that I have dealt with is the City of Kent. They use to be open for CPL 24/7, now with budget cuts they are open M-F, and four hours on Saturday.

As many of you know, LESA (Law enforcement support Agency) is where you go to get pistol permits in Pierce county. In fact, it is the only place.

Incorrect, if you live in Puyallup, the PD there will issue one to you. I see them all the time in the shop.
