5 dead at Christian School Shooting in Oakland
Quote: A gunman opened fire at a Christian university in California Monday, killing at least five people, law enforcement officials said. Police say they have a suspect in custody http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2017893014_apusreligiousschoolshooting.htmlQuote: Officer Johnna Watson did not give any other details about the detained suspect. Authorities earlier described the gunman as a heavyset Korean man in his 40s wearing khaki clothing. That's it... I'm not wearing any khaki clothing!!!! WTF over?

Says the guy was a nurse too...
"The injured woman said the shooter was a man in her nursing class who got up and shot one person at point-blank range in the chest before spraying the room with bullets, Johnson said."
Insane! There are some people really starting to loose their shit.

If not for being such a tragic event, I would be spouting off some seriously sarcastic comments.

WTF??? Please!
Does Chernobyl incident mean that there is no need for regulations on nuclear reactors? Please understand that to prove that a law does or does not work, you have to collect statistics. One event is not at all significant.

Statistics? If CA allowed more Concealed weapons permits to be issued, if they allowed Open Carry, if they allowed campus carry then there is a GOOD chance that this may not have gotten to where it did.
One doesn't need statistics to know that CA has a horrendous crime rate. They also have a state where gun carry is a sacred right, not shared by a lot. So, you have a high crime rate area and eliminate a key way for people to be able to defend themselves and what do you have??? A really bad statistic.

How do you know this? Do you have a similar state in demographics (heavily urbanized, diverse population with huge income difference) which has lax gun laws and less crime? You don't. Therefore you cannot prove that what you are saying is true - there is absolutely no evidence to that, positive or negative. You are just relying on "common sense", but it's the same type of common sense that tells you that sun rotates around the earth.
For example, I might just as well say that it is entirely possible that if the gun laws were laxer, there would be significantly MORE crime because access to weapons would be so much easier. Isn't it "common sense", too?

Chicago. Is that enough proof for ya? He may have got one or two, but CCW or OC could have prevented this from being 5 or now 7.

Can you elaborate on Chicago? Does is have laxer gun lows and therefore less crime?

Re: 5 dead at Christian School Shooting in Oakland
I can remember when I was pissed at someone in one of my classes I just gave them the finger or stuck a few dead smelt into their locker through the vent. If it was a teacher you just poured a cup of your freshly collected urine into the Heater/AC inlet on their car.
Shooting everyone because your PO'd is a little over the top and no amount of regulation or elimination of them will change the fact that some people are just not wired right.
I tend to believe that even if everyone in that class was armed it wouldn't change much. In the initial paralysis, not fully understanding what's transpiring, would allow plenty of time for the gunman to empty a mag. The only thing it might prevent is a Columbine like scenario where the gunmen in that case moved freely through the area, killing in multiple locations.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/cr ... 0tbl20.xlsWashington had 93 firearm related deaths in 2010, California had 1,257 California has 5.52 times the people.. So statistically, per the population, the score would be 93 to 228... In this game, low score wins.

Here we go, guns cause violent crime, a mathematical proof :-), just like above.
