For a man who owns a boat and comes from an Island, you must have left your sea legs at home.

Reminds me of that famous line in one of Shakespear's plays. " Hurlio, Hurlio, wherefore art thou, Hurlio ?
Answer back - " My name isn't Hurlio, it's RAAAALLLPH ! "

When I was in the navy aboard a tin can, we were transporting some Marines from Pearl to the Big Island for R&R. There was a slight chop on the water and a few of the Marines were really feeding the fish. The OOD walked back to the fantail and asked the Sgt " What's the problem, weak stomach?" The Sgt looked up and replied "No Sir, I am throwing it just as far as the rest of them"

Perfect Jim, I'll have to remember that line.
Going to try for shrimp in the South Sound, never seen anyone go out, nor any yellow buoys out there, so likely a no. Worth a shot.

Gareth,
Years ago While diving off of Titlow beach just south of the Narrows I saw the bottom carpeted with Spot shrimp. I've never tried fishing for them but there were gobs of them.
If you do try anywhere around the Narrows use LOTS and LOTS of weight in your pot and double up your floats. The frickin current through there is horrendous and will suck your pots out into the Abyss if you aren't prepared!

Good to know, thanks Don. I'll try a bit further South first and sneak up there if I have no luck. Cheers!

Being sea sick is the worst, cold air and lowest part of the boat is best. I have not seen any proven cures and me and others have tried them all. I used to to commercial salmon and halibut up north and dreaded the outside waters and when things picked up inside.
Seven up and saltines were my best friends as when they came back up it wasnt very acidic and a little sweet. Nothing quite like coiling gear and watching a puddle of your own dinner slosh back and forth across the deck

No shrimp in my area of Puget Sound. Might have to explore further afield. I did get a small dogfish, couple of flounder and a rather large crab that I am unsure how it entered the pot. Oh well. More adventures to be had.
