Video NWSA Oak Harbor IDPA 05/26/12
The bi-monthly IDPA match at North Whidbey Sportsmen's Association in Oak Harbor, Washington, last Saturday 5/26/12. 6 stages run. I had a bad jam on Stage 2 that might have cost me the match win. This match was designed for revolvers so everyone had to download to 6 rounds max.

Were they limiting the mags to 6 rounds? Good shooting too!
It's interesting that our president trusts North Korea with nukes, but doesn't trust me with a 30-round magazine.

Yep, all mags were loaded to 6 rounds max.
Made for good reloading practice!

What's the story with the jam that you had?
Different ammo? Bad ammo?
Just that time of the year to clean the pistol?
Any idea?

I think it was just a bad round. It didn't extract all the way from the chamber and then tried to feed the next round. The gun worked fine the rest of the match. It worked fine in my Class too and I didn't and still haven't cleaned it...

Interesting...
Do be careful of squibs, especially when you're racing like that.
I just get curious whenever an XD has a failure . . . y'know, since it's so rare and all that.

nice shootin' !! looks fun!
Noob question, but how does the revolver keep up with a semi-auto when reloading? it seem still not fair even with the same round count?

Those revolver guys csn be fast, now if its a full mag or 10+1 in a mag. Its really hard to compete. IMO That was a really fun match , really nice group up there! Great video D!
just an observation from someone who doesnt do this stuff but seems like there might be a time savings if you werent trying to clear your vest all the time, or is that a requirement of this type of competition

In IDPA yo have to shoot from a concelment garment. In other types of matches you dont. :)

Yep . . . it being the International Defensive Pistol Association and all, the idea is to mimic real-world carry which for most of us means carrying concealed. There are also restrictions on the type of holster, placement of the holster and mag pouches, etc. to simulate how you would actually be carrying "in the real world."

Normally a semi-auto will always be faster when doing reloads. But if they only allowed revolvers to shoot that particular match there would have been only 6 people in the match.
Also because there are "Divisions", semi-autos and revolvers don't really compete against each other.
