I fart in their general direction. That is a closed door done deal meeting with a bit of " public input " tossed on as an afterthought. Like cheap cologne, it doesn't cover the stink underneath.

I dont see this meeting having a good outcome......for anyone. I have said it before, Seattle residents need to deal with this one, not an angry mod of "outsiders". Plus, RENCORP also nailed down another point. Its all cooked anyways. Labeling it a town hall meeting is just a feel good measure.

Despite murder spike, Seattle still very safe city

As gun prohibitionists and gun rights activists prepare to square off – despite official insistence to the contrary – at a Town Hall Seattle meeting scheduled Monday, June 18 to discuss the city’s sudden spike in urban violence, a look at statistics affirms the Jet City is still a very safe place to live.

I agree. I had a really well thought out and researched post on WCF's facebook page showing data that Seattle was quite safe, especially when compared to anti-gun cities like NY and Chicago, and anti-gun states like Cali. Too bad they removed it then banned me from posting....

That is the difference between Ceasefire and Workman.

Workman believes in the 1st Amendment and I would have left your post, no matter how disagreeable, for people to view.

Those guys don't want the truth. They don't want fact. They want to take away your guns.

Too bad you do not have a copy of your post or better yet a screenshot of it on the FB site. Would be a nice thing to bring with you to the meeting and hand out to attendees so they can see the real truth about the data AND about the people leading this crusade. It won't convince everyone, but I bet some people would be swayed after hearing the truth and facts are being supressed for an agenda..

The data is easily reproducible. It was mainly off of their VPC post and their harvard Stat post. I used the VPC data against them, since the data is loaded. The harvard one was easier. Look up the FBI Crime stats in NY, Chicago vs. Seattle. Find the population of that year and make a ratio.

It's not just the data, it's the fact that they have supressed the data for a personal adgend that you want to bring to light. It is one thing to spin things your way, it is what statistics is all about, it is another thing when different information is brought to light and you delete or hide it from the public.

About like this:

Was community meeting camouflage for Seattle’s anti-gun agenda?

Cut through the rhetoric about the need for more education and mental health funding, neighborhood communications and youth violence intervention, and what came through at Monday evening’s Town Hall Seattle forum on violence was the city’s desire to erode state preemption and establish its own gun laws.

Cool, thanks for the good write-up!

We'll really have to watch this one. Denver jumped around CO's pre-emption law a few years ago playing the "home-rule" card; and now CO's a dangerous patchwork of local gun laws. In one city, you can bring your gun into an alcohol-serving restaurant, but your knife could land you in jail! In another city, you can't carry your gun into a grocery store if they sell beer. It's madness.

State pre-emption is crucial; it was sad to see it die after a few nice years in CO, hate to see anything harm it in WA.

Good post. Thanks for illustrating the potential reality to us Washingtonians . . . that sounds like a freaking nightmare. :blackcloud1:

This is EXACTLY what we are facing here in Washington. I expect serious efforts against Preemption and a frontal attack on Open Carry.
