Re: Finally got my CNC 1911 grips going....
ahaha, Im famous! I actually have that piece right here, but I sanded in a thumb groove. I need to make some more material maybe tomorrow with some support layers, and a few slight tweaks to the program.

Ever thought of doing rag grips? Might have to adjust cut speeds, but it would be another option.

Re: Finally got my CNC 1911 grips going....
'Rag grips' are what they call the fabric-laminate, or linen-phenolic grips. Examples: http://raascogrips.com/1911-grips--mic1911.htmlhttp://vzgrips.com/You can sandwich different colored fabrics and come up with some crazy awesome patterns. I had a shit-pot of links but no can find at the moment.

Re: Finally got my CNC 1911 grips going....
THAT'S the main one I was looking for! I have a script stopper running (unsecured wifi) and a bunch of stuff won't display. Took 3 tries on that link to get it all up. That's a very good example of what can be pulled off with rag grips and a CNC router.

Cool. Program is about dialed, just need the fine details of patterns or woods...
