Not much about the 26 year old who commited this horrible crime. Though kudos to the man that engaged him and helped the criminal shot himself.

I'm always trying decide between a G19 or something more compact. Things like this remind me I should choose the bigger pistol.

What the hell is wrong with people.... And then this: Quote: An usher confronted the shooter while inside the church and was violently pistol whipped, Aaron said. During the confrontation with the usher, the gunman shot himself in the left chest.... . . . After the struggle, the usher exited the sanctuary, got a gun from his vehicle and guarded the shooter until police arrived. Great job to the usher for: - Stepping up - Having a gun so he could guard the bad guy after it all happened. But coulda done better: - Uh, carry the damn gun?

Is this in a state where you are not supposed to carry a gun in church? That's what I assumed when I heard the usher had his gun in his car.

Maybe, good question. If so, does all that go out the window once something goes down? If they do have that stupid law, now would be a great time to change it. Bad things DO happen to good people, and in good places too.

Not sure but I think TN holds businesses liable if they prevent guns and such a situation arises. Not sure if a church is under that category.
Absent the bad guy making an error and some struggling by a good guy hero, would be far worse.
CARRY THE GUN....

Had this happened in my church, the guy would have looked like a collander before he got the second shot off.
And most of those holes would have been put into him by men, 50 and over...
Any more... I ESPECIALLY carry, in church.

But the shooter was black, so he was standing up to racial injustice as Michael bennet calls it

Quote: Samson was medically cleared for release by Sunday afternoon and was set to be arrested and charged with homicide and attempted homicide.
Although it's unclear if race or religion played a role in the shooting, authorities, including the federal Justice Department, have opened a civil rights case.
Samson, who is black, alluded to an attack Sunday morning, posting cryptic messages on Facebook. He killed a person. Well yeah I guess that person's rights were violated. WT Actual F have we come to????
