Safeway has New York’s and Ribeye in the value pack for 6.77 a pound. I love me some ribeyes.

Went into SW to grab one of the 3# double paks of 80/20 hamburger thinking that we probably won't see hamburger at $3/# again..... they were out..... but I did grab a raincheck for two double paks! Cool that it gives me 30 days to free up some space in the freezer.
Wish I would have done that for $0.99 pork butts at FM a couple of weeks ago... _________________ Plan B is actually repeating Plan A.... it just involves much more alcohol. Of the ten voices I hear in my head, only three keep telling me NOT to shoot.... Do I go with the majority or common sense? |

In case anyone is looking for pork butts --- FM has them for $1.29/#.... not great, but not bad.
I should add too - BOGO for FF chicken too - whole turns out to be $1.05/# and legs and thighs are $1.40/# which seems to be the going sale price for legs and thighs now. _________________ Plan B is actually repeating Plan A.... it just involves much more alcohol. Of the ten voices I hear in my head, only three keep telling me NOT to shoot.... Do I go with the majority or common sense? I was walking thru QFC browsing..... looking thru the meats..... and to my surprise --- unadvertised in store price for pork butt was $1/#...... left and went to another store, but I had to circle back and pick one up.... damn it. At least I've averaged down to $1.25/# for my two.

The bitch of it is --- I was chatting with a buddy last night - told him there is a spot on the smoker open if he wanted to grab a butt from FM..... he said 'yeah - I have to swing bye my kids apt right near FM so I will'.... So I knew if I bought a butt for him, he'd show up with one --- if I didn't, he would've blown it off.... I decided at that price I would grab one anyways and find some freezer space somewhere if needed.

Now they are 2 bucks a pound.  Gas is coming down a little though. My whole round trip was only 5 miles --- I was preventing making another dedicated trip just for the butt. Yeah, I always hit the QFC near me mid-week.
There are always unadvertised bargains on meat/pork/chicken… My guess is they’re freeing up freezer/walk-in space for deliveries of the upcoming weekend sales. Especially the one near me, as it’s kind of small. |

Yeah - I'm a sucker for GO --- I always swing in if I'm driving by just in case they are blowing something out. They used to have alot more day specials, but not so much anymore.

If anyone is looking for chicken --- FM has split breasts right now for $1.29/# - pretty good price nowadays considering....
QFC also has BOGO on chicken --- wholes come out to $1.10/# but the parts are $1.40+ depending on what part. _________________ Plan B is actually repeating Plan A.... it just involves much more alcohol.
