Been waiting all summer and finally got my first Hermiston watermelon last night. Now I'm mad at myself for wasting money on all those other I bought.

That good, hunh? Where do you get them? Did you have to leave a testicle behind to buy it?

Yes. Hermiston Melons. WITH seeds. Accept no substitutes. My mum just picked up a couple and I cut one last night. Delicious! And that was the end. Can't wait until I get to the heart.
It's really not worth buying fruit like melons and berries out of local season. They just aren't very good. Or even seedless watermelons, yuck. I do love local melon season!
Near Olympia: She said she got them at Jay's Farm Stand on Mud Bay road. She thought .39/lb and they are YUGE! I usually look for roadside produce stands to get them.

I miss WINCO too. Aldi has pretty decent produce sometimes, but definitely hit and miss. Sam's club has some pretty decent stuff if you don't mind a 5 pound bag of fruit. I think you can shop there even without a membership and see how it works out.

Never heard of this rage, but I braved the Renton Walmart tonight and they had lots of them. I think I paid less than $5 for a medium sized one. Will cut it open tomorrow to see what the hub-bub is about.

How many among us have ever shot watermelons with a .308 or 30-06? I would say more than few Not that I would suggest inflicting such an atrocity on a choice Hermiston melon though. There are many typical summer watermelons suitable for such terminal ballistic experiments at a much cheaper price chich627 avatar made me LOL by the way... Very funny.

Got it at Food Pavillion, they are the same as regular watermelon to tell when ripe but the skin is harder when you cut them
