No. But they did notice Mexican Coke selling for a buck a bottle.
And they wanted in. Switching to sugar doesn't cost very much.
Now there are entire sections at the supermarket for 'craft' soda's with real sugar.
Why not, they make 80 cents plus on each bottle.
Kroeger (Freddies, QFC) has real sugar orange, cola, root beer, and fake Dr. Pepper on sale now for $1.99 for 8 cans.
Pepsi has throwback...and people pay full price even when it's not on sale. Free market wins every time. If the market doesn't win, you can bet the gov is messing with something....

Cherry coke and dr pepper reduced down is the start to some really good pork bbq sauces

Using cherry coke instead of water when cooking a spiral ham is the shit! Cherry 7up works pretty good too.
Also work good for thinning jarred bbq sauces, but I usually use beer since there is always one open when I'm grillin.
