I don’t know any Mexicans in Pierce counts but, there’s at least four Mexican restaurants on 72nd between Portland and McKinnley, including the aforementioned taco bus.

Tacos Guyamas is good.


The real question is, do you dig on Colombian food?

Hahah suckers! This is the one culinary style that we northerners kick your ass. For most all ethnic foods it sucks, but Mexican we are flush with killer places in the Skagit Valley!

Taqueria Zamora on 44th and Portland, you have to go in through the stop n rob and cash only. Taqueria la fondita, taqueria hermanos cardon, veuvle la vida....if you order menudo you will get a fucking hoof in your bowl and the chili rejanos or how ever you spell it are killer, but they only make them on thrusdays
El antojo on 56th and orchard, or 38th and McKinley 56th is more money but has a bar

Everything from any of those places will make you happy.

I know, right? When I walk in a hole-in-the-wall with brains, tongue, tail, and tripe on the menu, and the TVs are blaring Spanish cable channels, it's probably authentic. If your waitress is named Julie or Cassie, they have 32oz Kool-Aid margaritas, or the hot sauce comes in packets, zero chance.

I always liked El Rinconcito, especially late at night, but most of my experience is with the ones in S. King.

While not in Pierce County, Taco Maestro on Auburn Way N was my favorite when I worked in Auburn. Their sister location in Renton is also great, but busier.

I'd recommend Don Alberto in Lakewood near the Great American Casino at the end of the 512 and I5. It's the same chain that was in SoCal before it split to all the owner's kids.

Also, the Taco Bus in South Hill is moving or has moved to a new location. Saw a sign on it a week or two ago.
