We usually just go to the same one, but its gotten pretty expensive and seems to be getting pretty run down/dirty.

Im not scared of run a down/dirty place, if the food is good and reasonably priced, but its gotten to be about $85 for two people to eat there. For $85 bucks a pair it should be top notch or Ill go home and cook ribeyes.

Where is your favorite place in the TACOMA or LACEY area?
From Eatonville its the same for me to go to tacompton or the lacey area. Both places seems ot have many Korean BBQ joints.
We always get the normal ol all you can eat bbq.

Where to? Best food? Best value?

We went to Palace Korean in Lakewood a while back and the food was decent. But I was very put off by them having only a dinner menu on the table at lunch time, and them trying to charge us dinner price because we ordered shrimp, which is only on the dinner menu. The cashier actually argued with me even after I showed her that the only menu on the table was not identified as the dinner menu. The owner/manager was summoned and he frowned and rerang the bill, and left without apologizing. I won't go back.
BUT, I really enjoy the Palace Korean in Fed Way, not under the same ownership.

Not BBQ, but the Underground Kitchen in Federal Way has some of the best Korean Fried chicken around.

I need to call in a welfare check on oldkim. He should have written an essay in this thread by now.

Can’t help in the south end, but up north in Seattle, we have a ton of joints that are actually good.

Son of a Butcher is awesome but expensive

Meet Korean BBQ is amazing

Stone Korean - haven’t been there but hear good things

Exit 5 is decent

The Grill King in Shoreline is decent but older

Baegopa is expensive and a little bit of a ripoff

Other Korean food: The Third Place in Redmond is owned by the same owners of Underground Kitchen in Federal Way and has the best Korean fried chicken in the state. I’ve pretty much tried all the Korean fried chicken places in the Puget sound and I’m declaring them the winner lol.

Lol

Still alive but not as fun. Haven’t been to an all out all you can eat BBQ in some time.

Prices are high. Way to high for me now since I can’t eat as much (oh the good old days).

I would say it’s still an experience to sample so many dishes at one time. You don’t have to eat all of it. Just taste and experience it. For that it’s hands down a great meal and price. But for me trying to get my moneys worth is not happening anymore. (Hint: wife)

I would recommend taking someone that has some experience as this will enhance your experience. Ordering and knowing how to cook it are many of the factors that can get you bogged down.

Now as for the chicken question.

It’s all in the prep and cooking. First it’s cooked to almost done in lower temps. Takes longer. Then just before serving it’s flash fried in hot temps to make it really crispy. So it’s moist and flavorful and really really crispy on the outside.

Third Place chicken is pretty good. They have the crisp down nicely, flavor decent, service is good. Other foods so-so.

The Stone Korean is hit and miss, used to be they had the BEST BiBimBop and it is still good but....lost it's novelty I guess. Their grilled mackerel is good, but the kalbi ribs are usually pretty good. Their fried chicken is usually dry.

Where are these places?

Son of a Butcher:

2236 Eastlake Ave E, Seattle, WA 98102

Meet:

500 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122

I’ve been to both and they’re both really good. Expensive, but good.

On that note, have you guys tried Japanese bbq?
Guy-Kaku is my favorite place to go. We go about once a month to splurge. They’re expensive as well lmao
