I've been waking up in a cold sweat for about a month and a half now, wondering just how enormous 30 pounds of frozen blueberries would be, and how I was going to get them into my freezer. I've been eating all kinds of old frozen food as fast as I can, trying to clear some space! Well, slashbike made his delivery run down I-5 today (for those of you who saw his blueberries for-sale thread). It was a nice easy meet at the Des Moines Park and Ride for me, though I did see a few other WaGuns deplorables while I was there, so that was a little creepy. But, to my relief, 30 pounds really isn't THAT much. Bananas included for scale. The box is 15"L x 11"W x 8.5"H. That big blue bag is stuffed into my freezer at the moment, but I'll be getting to work here shortly so I'll add to this thread as I get some of them processed. Check out their Facebook page, there are a couple of cool videos showing the machine picker, and the de-stemming machine: https://www.facebook.com/eastviewblueberryfarm/. I've got a lot of food prep in front of me, but I'm excited! Chime in if you got some too, and what you're doing with them.

I picked up my blueberries at 8:30 and was eating a HUGE blueberry pancake by 9:30. So far I’ve portioned out five, 2lbs containers to give to family. Just got back from the store. Had to buy a muffin pan. Hey MadPick. I apologize for not saying hi. I thought I recognized you there. I was the guy in the white Toyota Tacoma and WaGuns hat. I’m sorta antisocial ( I’m having issues posting photos. Postimager. I’ll share some when I figure out what’s going on)

These are really, really good. Big and sweet. Old Growth wrote: We got 60lbs this morning. Bastard. My only regret is that I sold my second box to Rutilate. usrifle wrote: So what are you making? Well, a small amount went towards this: Start with a quart jar. Add two cups of vodka and one cup of sugar, shake to dissolve. Top it up with blueberries (maybe 2 cups?). Apparently the next step is to let it sit for a couple of months, shaking/turning occasionally.

P.S. There's an empty vodka bottle that didn't make it into the pic.

Well, I've made it through all of the blueberries (more details to come as they all get finished up), and it turns out that I vastly overestimated my need for lemons.
Now I have 11.5 lemons and almost a liter of vodka. This may require more research . . . I have a feeling that there may be a solution to this problem.

Pablo, you were right! Stuff lemon quarters (about 3 lemons, maybe a little more) into a quart jar. Fill with vodka. Add two tablespoons sugar. Give it a shake, let it sit for a week-ish. So they say. I still have a little vodka and three lemons left, but I think I can deal with that!
