Were doing an Italian Christmas.
Pasta bar, bruschetta, cheese/meat dishes and lots of booze.

Ham....from our own pigs. Raising your own is the only way to go. I can't even choke down the store bought anymore.
And scalloped potatoes to go with of course.
...oh, probably peach crown too.

Don't wanna take up to much of this thread so to clarify I'm part of a "pig co-op" Couple families help out and we do 16 pigs a year. It's an ass load of work. Kill, gut, skin, cut, chop, grind, wrap, brine, smoke, etc. My buddy has been doing it for 25 years. I'm a noob...I've only been involved for the past 5 years. Every year we improve our setup so It's getting easier. We all put in the sweat equity so it's all done for cost. Anyway, what's everyone doing for side dishes? Any homemade cranberry sauce recipes out there? And before anybody asks we've got a waiting list to join up.

Got my tenderloin.......$25 per pound about $60...  More to follow. Pics and everything. Xmas only comes one a year, so why not? So far Wellington, fresh mashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts. Probably a good homemade steak/potato sauce.

We're doing Denny's turkey pickup here--with my mother bedridden and my aunt having a propensity to injure herself loading crocks etc into the car, better to play it safe and leave it to the pros so all we have to fight with is a couple bags.
