I like to try new things in the food world, and this is a new concept for coke, naming beverages instead of associating them with a flavor...

This, is a weird one. It's supposed to taste like the universe.....

The weird thing is.. every time you take a sip, you taste something else..

Each sip is pretty heavy on a cherry-vanilla flavor... but, each sip also includes a much more complex flavor profile... The next sip was cherry vanilla but tapered off to an orange cola flavor... another sip and after the cherry-vanilla left it was like chocolate and graham crackers... another sip.. cinnamon..

What in the world?

This is what I imagine wine testers doing... sloshing it around and talking about notes of this and notes of that... but it really is pretty complex.

It reminds me of being a kid and having a small cup and mixing all the sodas together, but each time you do it it's slightly different with one flavor being more prominent, but in this case, each sip is different.

Should you buy it?

For those with simple tastes, including myself, this isn't something that you would buy to have on hand and drink all the time.

Is it interesting? Yes.

Should you try one? Absolutely.

Will I buy more? Definitely not.

Get one, try it.. you might enjoy the novelty of it, but it will quickly wear off.

My kid got one today..

She said it tastes like they mixed every flavor in one bottle from the soda fountain but with a strong fruit flavor.

I think it might be an interesting mixer with some JD or some spiced rum... But nothing to waste the good stuff on.

Coca-Cola Researcher: What do we do with all of these flavor batches that didn’t pan out?

Coca-Cola Accountant: Well…

(Added bonus…never have to duplicate)

Yup.

That was pretty much my thought...

'Shit, we have 300k gallons of this bullshit, what do we do?!'

'Sounds like we're about to make an exclusive limited time flavor....'

Well, they're talking about future releases from 'Coca-Cola Creations' to only last a couple weeks.

Exclusivity as a marketing practice works surprisingly well. Apple is proof of that.

Shit, it works on me.. I always want to try new things, even if I don't particularly think I'll like it....

Also sounds like an easy way to do mass scale market tests...

Like Dr. Pepper Cream Soda.. Was a limited time thing, but the people demanded it so much they brought it in as a full time flavor... I'm still pissed I never got to try the Dr. Pepper Dark Berry.

2 16 oz bottles for $3 at Safeway..

Like I said... It's a 'try it because it's something new' thing...

I also like to guinea pig new flavors ( mostly soda and chips) so i had to give this a shot

Took awhile to try and whittle down what was going on but in the end ive decided its a funky musty or stale cotton candy going on in there

Not so sure this ones gonna fly but ya cant capture more of the market if ya dont throw something out there once in awhile....

Personally i kinda REALLY liked this idea from florida i picked up this last week

They're bringing it back briefly for the JW: Dominion promo IIRC.
