I don't know if there are any Albertsons left in Washington but Kroger, aka Fred Meyers, wants to merge with them. (merge translates to buy out on the spot)
Bad, BAD deal!

Safeway bought Albertsons --- so I was confused to hear this.... Sis said that SW has already converted all the Albertson stores they want and made sense - so now they are selling off the store locations that they don't want to carry anymore. Seems like a conglomeration/monopoly forming to me --- NOT good for the consumer (us).

Not really a grocery store deal --- but still worth posting....

Cynch --- a propane delivery service - it running a special for new customers --- $10 for a propane tank delivered (with exchange).

I haven't tried it yet or dug too deep into it, but its enticing --- especially if you have an older out of date tank that you want to swap out --- I'd do that at Blue Rhino when needed for $22. Keep in mind its still a 3/4 full 15# tank -- but still a good deal nowadays.

Yeah.... everyone has number stamps laying around..... :wink05:

Still --- at $10 + tax and depending on 'fees'.... The cheapest I've seen propane is $3.50/gal - and that was a while ago --- 3.5 gal X $3.50 is $12.33 + tax.... So, still not a bad deal to swap out a tank.... delivered. Better than paying $22 + tax for Blue Rhino for the same amount and easier.

QFC has beef tenderloin steaks on sale buy one get one free.

Waste of money. I did not expect a perfect cut or perfect prep. What I got was so bad. I got two packages. Each one had an ok cut piece but each one also had a poorly cut end. No matter how I tied it I couldn't get anything that resembled a steak. So, I tossed those in the fridge and will make El Gaucho's Tenderloin Diablo with them.

Next time if they don't have some not already wrapped I'm popping packages. Just kidding. But there won't be a next time.

That's just the picture, it's not breaded when you buy it. That's a great price, Thanks for the heads up TW! I thought i did good at 1.29lb for Thighs at QFC last week.
Marinated them for 4 days and then baked them. The extra Marinade time didn't seem to add more flavor though.

Most stuff is...They use close to if not the maximum amount of fillers allowed by law. Saltwater is cheap. It also absorbs water during the chilling process since it's submerged in water. They get around a lot of the restrictions by putting a disclaimer on the packaging saying it can contain up to X% of flavor enhancers.

That's why people pay 9$/lb for the 'certified organic nothing added' shit at Whole Foods.
