I didn't plan in doing a garden this year, but with all the crazy shit going on in the world and prices through the roof on everything, I decided to do it big this year.
Ripped out my old retaining wall this weekend and built a new one. Just finished it today.
Ripped out all of my old "dog proof" fencing and installed new stuff. I love the bastard, but he eats everything and wreaks havoc.
Cycled through all my old dirt and am having two yards delivered later this week.
Starts will go in the ground in about two weeks.
Grass seed will go down tomorrow along with a few more blueberry bushes.
Let's see em' boys.

Only limited garden space for the last 15+ years - now with the new place, no real limitation. We have lots of cold weather seeds up, plus potatoes are sprouting. We also have fruits trees, all kinds of different berries.
I was going to till and direct sow, but changed my mind. Building a mess of raised beds

The small 4x4ft bed I did sq ft gardening. It is kind of amazing what fit. Easy to mark, nail and run string, 1x1 foot. We have Raab is 3 squares Italian parsley in 2, carrots in 3, bok choy in 2, radish in 4. Peas in 2. All sprouting now! Plus we had 2 frosts and the strings keep the crop frost protection blanket off the sprouts. The other beds, potatoes, collards, kale and arugula.

I can throw the 4x8 plots together pretty fast (did the first couple in the rain) but each one holds near exactly a yard of soil mix. Takes a bit to haul from three piles (sand, compost, top soil) - sometimes by hand. Ugg.

Sand first..............then more sand then compost and top soil.........mix mix mix................weeds down 10+ inches are killed and degrade.

The best deals on tree's seem to be coastal farm if you have one near by. They have 3 to 6x spliced fruit trees for $40(or mabey $30, I cant remember). These are small scraggly trees planted in sawdust, but in, my case have 4 pear varieties spliced in the same tree. I can get better healthier plants from places like lowes, but they are $80 for a 2 tree splice, but it is taller and already planted in real dirt.
I've planted a couple of their sawdust trees, and they seem to do okay, just keep them watered... Oh and my big issue with trees in general is deer killing them back because i forget to spray them with deer spray.
Im planning on picking up a healthy apple as soon as their next batch appears, the last one they has was kinda spliced awkward and not as nice as i wanted. I already have 2 mature apple trees but the old one has a coffee cup full of water that collects in a rotted knot hole, and is riddled with woodpecker tattoos.
Anyone have advice on an otherwise young(30-50 year) healthy walnut tree pussing really bad? It was from a random untouched spot in the bark, it did it for a month and stopped last week. Is it something to worry about?

Got a pick up truck load of aged manure. $10. It's a crappy job but someone has to do it. We're still about 3 weeks away from being 'safe' to plant so wife has her indoor redneck hot house planted.

Spliced tree didn't do so good for us. After about 10 years, the fruit is mush.
