Curious as to how and what parts people eat in some item/dishes. :thumbsup2:

Ill start out with FAT. Do you eat the fat on a steak or the fat on a strip of bacon?

I do, but my wife will trim anything that remotely looks like fat of of anything she eats.

I’ll eat the whole strip of bacon. Fat on steak, though … I’ll do a little, but for the most part I’m an aggressive trimmer.

How about the Pope's nose on a turkey's butt?

And the giblets? All but the liver goes in my gravy, along with the neck meat.

I vigorously trim fat from beef and pork. Although - I haven't had them since I was a yongster - I did enjoy one or two pork cracklins if done right.

I can eat bacon fat if there's meat in the bite, too.

Beef tongue? Sure, but I was never big on organ meat or sweet bread.

Chicken skin?

I grew up thinking that all chicken skin should be removed. Since then, I've learned that when cooked properly, chicken skin is supposed to be a good thing.

Rubbery skin is definitely shit. Well-cooked skin, well I've been trying to give it a chance, but most of the time I just regret it on most pieces of chicken.

Well-cooked chicken wings seem to be fine, but a breast or a thigh or something . . . sheesh, I dunno.

I grew up poor.

I mean I had enough growing up because my parents worked their tail off but we we were poor.

So yes I will eat the fat and gristle that most would choke on for just leave.

If I see someone cutting fat off a steak, it's pretty safe to say they voted for Biden. You girls need to learn to appreciate meat!
