I made the same again, today for breakfast. I've also made some brown bread - 1/3 bread flour, 1/3 whole wheat flour, and 1/3 rye flour, following this recipe, but adding more water. It has a really good flavour, and would be great with a beef stew.

It's a good thing that little tiny spoiler was at the end . . . I was just about to give you hell for missing the most important pic! That looks really yummy. Dammit, it's only 6:30 a.m. and I'm ready to tear into it!

That's a better-looking Beef Wellington than I've ever made. I've only made 2, and I rolled the pastry out too thick. I keep meaning to make another one, but with brisket, and cook the meat sous-vide until it goes tender, and then cook everything REALLY hot in the oven to cook the pastry before the beef goes towards well-done.
But I'm tired and lazy.
Ooh, maybe I should smoke the brisket, and then it doesn't matter if I over-cook to make sure the pastry is done because the meat is already "well done". Oh yeah. Gimme some time, there's a plan forming. Also, it needs a name - who are the American equivalents of Lord Wellington?

I don't post the bad stuff. I don't want you guys seeing how I really am...
I've made 3.5 loaves of bread this week. Actually, I made a loaf of bread where I forgot the oil, but it still came out okay and tasty, and 2.5 where I upped the hydration so it would rise more, totally overdid it, and ended up with 2.5 loaves of mostly-cooked dough that didn't rise, looked weird, and tasted undercooked. But I didn't post photos of that.

Dammit, it's only 6:30 a.m. and I'm ready to tear into it! lol best for last. no clue why I decided to make it. just saw gordons video and was kinda lost as what to use and how much, so looked up the recipe and then it made sense. the only thing I hated about the whole thing was the 2 min frying in oil on all 6 sides, it seals the juice in. when I saw a comment on pastry being runny I was like ahh.. it came out just enough crunch and meat was heaven. only thing that I added was fresh minced garlic WW... I bought the frozen puff pastry it just made it easier let it thaw for awhile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2EOAF3zPCc&t=364shttps://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-i ... on-recipe/

I nuked some leftover Meatloaf and Mashed potatoes from last night. It was glorious....My beautiful Wife makes a mean Meatloaf. I guess that doesn't count towards Cooking something, but it was good.

Can't go wrong with CS on a cold winter day.
