I have an 18 in Weber and I've liked that. I was wanting to upgrade to 22in or 26 in. I really want a rotisserie option. My mom has this old briquette rotisserie, and the chicken comes out amazing.
On a side note I took advantage of Fred Meyers buy one get one free pork sale. Picked up about 15lbs of pork shoulder and I just finished smoking it. Waiting for it to cool down in a warmed oven. I snuck a bite when I wrapped it in foil, and it was awesome. Gonna have pulled pork for tomorrow. Makes an easy heat and go option. Plus any extra gets vacuum packed and I sous vide it to heat back up.

So pics from the meat pulling. And not the kind that some of you like... (disclaimer, wife had some filter setting that made things a bit fuzzy.)

Smoked goat curry and side dishes On Saturday I bought two pounds of fresh goat meat. I love goat curry. I made a twist - I first smoked the goat meat, then slow cooked it. I did this with no recipe so I just will outline it here. First I dry rubbed the meat with my homemade curry powder, garam masala, turmeric, my own paprika blend, and a little cayenne powder to taste. Sat in fridge over night. Take out of fridge allow to set and approach room temp, then I ran a couple hours at 150°F with apple wood pellets. Meat was still uncooked inside, dry and sweet smoky outside. Then on the gas I start the saute three - chopped onion (1 large) in grapeseed oil, large hunk of grated ginger, and when almost done 6 fat chopped garlic cloves. When onion near translucent add a little curry powder of your choice and a hunk of butter. (You can do this all in ghee if you want). Then throw the meat in, get the oils and the other goodies all coated on the meat. Cover with broth (I used organic vegetable broth, chicken broth fine). Turn gas to as low as possible, cover and leave for a couple hours. When meat is absolutely tender, remove the meat and reduce the gravy. I don't add any salt because the broth. Add meat back and sliced serano and/or jalapeno if you like. Serve over basmati rice with spinach paneer, chickpeas, beans and lentils mix. Wow very tasty!

Beef heart, pan fried in butter and olive oil. When the heart was done (med rare) I put it in the warm oven. Then in the same cast iron pan, without cleaning or even wiping it out. I tossed in two bunches of beet greens (out of my garden) and two crushed cloves of garlic (also out of my garden) sautéed. I like a little vinegar on my greens so at the table I drizzle a bit of apple cider vinegar over the beet greens. The rest of the beets are roasting in the oven. 400* for 30 to 60 min. When done I’ll peel them slice them and put them in a bowl with a tablespoon or so of apple cider vinegar. Then into the fridge. I’ll eat them cold tomorrow.

With yesterday being rainy, it was the perfect day to throw a roast in the slow cooker with potatoes, onions and carrots. My family loves roast, and my wife loves it when I work from home and cook :)
