Serious Eats Guy, Kenji, is opening his yapper about politics, ... STFU and just do your gig.... And yes, I'm well aware he has the right, just like I have the right to want him to STFU....

Yep. There's also not-so-wild speculation about other stuff stuff he's into, too. EDIT: Link

Some people put football/baseball/xxxxball people up on a pedestal. Alton Brown is my hero. I have my DVR set to record every episode of Good Eats, and now he has Good Eats Reloaded.

Put ribeyes in the sous vide then into the broiler for a couple minutes. With some steamed broccoli and longboard island lager. So good it was almost obscene.

Decided to make another batch of spaghetti for the snowy week yesterday.... Thought I'd share some pics of how I browned the sausage if anyone is interested.... Whole pound of sausage in one giant patty Attachment: 20190205_173030 (Medium).jpg Top and bottom nicely browned/blackened with the center still medium rare! Attachment: 20190205_173800 (Medium).jpg Patty chopped up and in the slow cooker for simmering... Attachment: 20190205_174329 (Medium).jpg 3/4 of an onion chopped and browned in the sausage grease, a can of sliced mushrooms (yeah, I was lazy and I had it in the cupboard) and a jar of Classico Vodka sauce --- simmered for ~ 2hours last night --- will simmer it for another 2 hours tonight before dinner.... Mix in some mini penne and parmesan and toast some ghetto garlic bread (white bread with butter & garlic) = one hell of a meal. I'm expecting this round to be even better than the last batch! And its soooo damn easy.... and tasty. I find this method (besides being really easy) keeps alot of the meat juices and seasoning from the sausage IN the sauce, instead of boiling it off in the pan and tossing with the grease. The slow cooker is key - just makes it so easy.... no tending/stirring and worrying about burning on the stove top - just an occasional stir is needed.

I'm back, sorta. Rix86 wrote: Put ribeyes in the sous vide then into the broiler for a couple minutes. With some steamed broccoli and longboard island lager. So good it was almost obscene. Toss the broccoli with a little oil and a little salt, and then broil it until the edges get some brown on them and the rest is really bright green. Takes about 10 minutes total. The brown is sweetness. I'm never not broiling broccoli again. I've made a loaf of bread And I made a breakfast of New York strip slices on toasted English muffin, with a poached egg. That's all I've cooked in the last week. And that's because I became a dad a week ago today. I've been a little preoccupied.

Ah, I had not seen that in the background. I refrained from posting the breakfast pic because my tiny person was in it, wearing an expression of deep concentration. This accompanied An Ominous Sound, which was followed by both my wife and I saying "it's your turn to change him".
