That sounds really good, Larry. Doesn't sound at all like the pork chops I ate while growing up.

(No offense, Mom.)

I made some brown-butter cornbread, with charred poblano, green onion and corn inside. I also smoked some short ribs until they were as soft as warm butter, and poached some eggs, and made a sausage gravy. Slice the cornbread open, top with some short-rib, then an egg, and some gravy, and a dash of hot-sauce.

I made redneck Eggs Benedict for dinner.

I also made some caramelized-honey butter with cumin, ancho and chipotle, to put on the rest of the cornbread muffins.

I am so far behind the curve, and reading this thread might just throw me off-course for getting this place finished. The Dread Princess has been bringing me my meals as I work most days.

I have to figure out something to do with the figs... We have three trees, and the fruit all needs to be picked within about a 3 day stretch or they turn to mushy bags of syrup.
So during those three days I get all my moisture requirements from eating a fig or 3 as I walk by the trees. They are delicious, but man, this year by the end of that third day I was looking forward to running out of figs.
Next year if the trees continue to grow I'll have to figure out a better way to put them to use.
