^ OH HELL YEAH! Another great night with the whisk(e)y master at the Flat Iron Grill. Can I post food pics in a drinkin' thread? Here's the bourbon lineup: And here's the menu for the night: We started with the duck meatball. To me, appearance-wise this doesn't win any prizes but I thought it tasted GREAT: Pardon the half-eaten roasted sunchoke salad, but I was so excited that I forgot to take a pic first! And then there was the deep-fried smoked salmon ball, another crowd favorite: And then the last of the main courses, the ostrich tenderloin in the corn puree. This was really interesting, as most of us had never eaten ostrich. It was very good, with the texture (and look) of beef, but it tasted a little different: And finally, the sweet finish of the roasted, alcohol-infused pear with mascarpone: Y'all need to get out to one of these dinners!

Love me some thick rare ostrich steaks, they used to have them at Palisade in the 90's... Haven't seen any around lately but haven't been looking hard either.

Neversweat bourbon whiskey from Butt, I mean Butte, Montana. Not too bad, I prefer scotch but it has a nice nose and spicy finish. Picked some up on my last visit. Although I would have preferred Rough Stock Bourbon.

Right now at Costco, or bottle shops, you can pick up some Woot Stout from Stone Brewing for about 7-8 bucks and it is really tasty too. Founders Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) is great as well, but pricy.
