Jeez. Are we all wound up that tight that we can’t all enjoy a good burger and shake?

Looks like a great burger. I have been inside there once, but didn't get the burger. I'll remedy that the next time.
Maybe a WaGun's meet-up there sometime this year? Less bitchiness though. haha

Wow, thought it was okay to say to it wasn't someone in New York's decision to decide what was iconic here since the locals didn't feel that way.
Maybe the Mods should just PM to each of us what opinions we're allowed to have, especially when newbies are stirring the shit.
As someone PM'd to me....this place is changing.

It's a Northwest icon I'm surprised many haven't heard of it, but then again how many of you Northwesterners actually leave the greater Puget Sound region? Ha ha Driven by it at least a dozen times. Been to all corners of the State and everywhere in between multiple times. "Northwest Icon?" Haha.....I think not. A Northwest Icon is something like Pike place Market. That's somewhere everyone in the State knows about. You know, an "Iconic" place. Maybe you and Ops should go up there together sometime, if you buy him two shakes he would probably drive. Pretty sure more people would rather go to Fat Smittys than The market now but you and your people can keep the hemp jewelry and overpriced socialist free trade commerce. It smells like piss and dead fish anyhow. http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/news/ ... its-walls/They don't have to beg for it like the market (racket) foundation does. People post the bucks out of kindness. Not guilt or worse, pretentious excess. "You and your people?" .... really? What exactly do you mean by that?

I don't think it takes much to confuse a good majority

Iconic really has more than one meaning.
Pike market might be iconic to some/majority of people.
Fat Smittys is iconic to another group of folks.
Since I don't really have a taste for overcrowded, overhyped, overpriced, underquality kinda stuff, the market is not my forte.
I may be lacking taste, culture, class, whatthefuck ever you may want to call it. SO if you think that Fat Smittys is iconic, you may be my kinda folks.
I'm very qualified when it comes to Grease, burgers, fried things and shakes/malts.
Wine, hippies, bums, flowers, traffic, not so much so. :)

JFC you guys. You guys are acting as if it was hot weather and the a/c was out. Or mean drunks on your 3rd beer. Or like you came home and your dog had chewed the sofa cushions to shreds and still had material in his teeth but trying to look innocent. Or like you're surrounded by enemies, and need to puff out the pokey things to keep bad guys at bay. Chill, brethren. I'm with Old Growth. I'd take Fat Smitty's burger joint trip before going into the big city. If it's the same place that I am thinking of - it's out in the boonies , right off the main highway, no?

Oh I am leaving just forgot my coat. And to leave this here. Written by your very own Seattle Times. In 2004. That's before that New Yorker fella some people are so up in arms about I think but what do I know. Again. Get out more. Cheers. http://community.seattletimes.nwsource. ... =smitty02m

I just got home from work, the Sofa cushions are fine and so am I. Frankly, though I was born and raised here and i abhor Seattle and won't go there unless I absolutely have to. I will say Fat Smitty's does look like a great place and I will stop by there on my next trip over that way. As far as Leaving Blue92, that isn't necessary. Maybe just tread a little softer since you are new and we all get to know each other a little better. Fair enough?

Yeah, that's called an article.
No mention of an icon.
Sorry some people don't know the definition of iconic.
I don't even have a problem if people on the Peninsula want to declare Smitty's as iconic.
But they don't.
And that's my only point.
They don't, and we don't;.......and we shouldn't accept it as such just because someone in New York, after 14 years, says it is.
That's all I'm saying.
Shellfish are iconic to the region. Dungeness, are iconic to the region.
Hamburgers? No.
Is it a great place for a burger? Yep!

Now I am hungry, and confused. Maybe I should have picked a different topic for my fist post. But that burger looks really good.
