OK, Steve's ribs was the final straw.
Back story...
I'm waaaaaaaaaaaayyy behind on this thread and really didn't know what an Instant Pot was or what it could do.
All I've ever used was a slow cooker (aka crock pot) and a plain old rice cooker.
So, we bought a small rack of ribs this morning and I put them in the big crock pot for 5.5 hours on low.
Turned out alright, nothing to write home about.
Then I see his picture and HOW LONG IT TOOK! :cussing:
I think it's time to upgrade.

My experience exactly...

I was trying to think if there was a way to dry the meat some, before broiling.

Maybe refrigerate uncovered for awhile, or, maybe in the dry a bit with no sauce in oven, then sauce & broil...

For baby back ribs, the recipes that I saw called for 20 minutes at pressure followed by 10 minutes at natural release. Plus, it take a bit for the pot to come up to pressure. But still, you're probably at 45 minutes total for the baby backs, plus the few minutes in the oven.

Or, skip the oven and just slather the BBQ sauce on them . . . would probably be just as good!

Well, I just got done with having dinner courtesy my new Instant Pot.
Roast beef, carrots & potatoes. Red wine, butter and the beef juices simmered down for the drippings.
Not gonna lie... pg 24 :ROFLMAO:
Good thing it was good because the wife was getting hungry.
I think some might know what happens if a skinny girl gets hungry. It's enough to scare Stephen King.

Ya, I fumbled through the whole process but my cherry is busted so next time will be better.

I might like this thing. :wagwoot:

I still can't believe how easy it all is.

Thanks.

I've made butter chicken a few different ways in the Instant Pot, but a few days ago I made the twosleevers recipe, and it's my favorite so far!

I got a good dinner out of it:

And some awesome lunches:

I followed the recipe as-written, except that I used chicken breasts instead of thighs, and I went heavy on all of the spices, with maybe 40% more than the recipe called for.

This recipe is a little odd in that you only eat half of the sauce, then save the other half for a future meal. I cooked some frozen chicken breasts in the IP (with a cup of water) to use in the second half of the sauce, and it was great. (These pics are actually of the second half of the recipe.)

I made a triple batch, but I think you could quintuple (that's 5x for the M&P guys who are reading this) the recipe if you have an 8-quart IP.

Good shit. I'll be making it again.

MadPick shared this with me and it has become the Instant Family Favorite (IFF). I've tried four different butter chicken recipes so far and this one is the best.

WTF? You knuckle-dragging Glock-lover!

I quadrupled it in my 8qt pot but put 4.5 lbs of frozen chicken breasts in. Still had room for more sauce and at least one more small-ish chicken breast. So 5X is my next goal.

I didn't stray far, but I shifted directions slightly tonight and made chicken tikka masala:

Image

Recipe: https://twosleevers.com/chicken-tikka-masala/

I made a triple batch in the 8-quart IP, and it was full.

It tastes good, but I don't like it as well as the butter chicken above. Texture is really nice, the sauce is good and thick. It was more work to make than the butter chicken.

Between the two, I'm giving the butter chicken the thumbs-up . . . but this is still very good.

Nice, Chris. Which is that, the butter chicken or the chicken tikka masala?

Something about the instant pot needing a LOT more spices.....I think volatile portions just vent.....
