That makes sense.

We already had an Instant Pot, and after researching ‘til I had a headache, and way too much info, this one was highly rated, and supposed to do a great job on root vegetables, and be easy to clean.

Probably all lies, but we’ll see

Just made Sous Vide steaks over the weekend for the wife’s b-day, so, she’s getting used to the gadgets :thumbsup2:

You have to make it a bit dryer than normal. Almost like a paste.

OK, gonna throw my current two cents on air fryers out there.

For the last couple of years, I've been using the Ninja SP101 "Flip" Digital Oven: https://www.amazon.com/Ninja-Multi-Purp ... 07SCGY2H6/. It flips upwards to conserve counter space when you're not using it, it has a number of functions include dehydrate, and on paper it felt like the right choice when I bought it. And it did work well for a number of things, including potato wedges, reheating leftover pizza, etc.

However, I always found it very difficult to clean properly, and its very short height was a real problem in some cases. Put a baked potato in there, and you're right at the top -- nothing taller would fit.

So . . . I just gave it to a friend who's interested in giving it a whirl.

I was becoming interested in trying the old-school drawer-type air fryers, and then I found the Cosori Dual Blaze: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BJHB2BD/. The price was at $150 when I found it, so I jumped -- and so far, it has been much, MUCH better than the Ninja.

With the dual heating elements (one above and one below), I rarely flip anything. The basket is very non-stick, and super easy to just wipe out when I'm done. We've been putting veggies in there with a little oil and seasoning, and bam, ten minutes later they are cooked very nicely. This morning I put in a frozen sausage patty, seven minutes later I cracked an egg into it (into a ring), and three minutes later I had a cooked sausage patty and a sunny-side-up fried egg. Then w-i-p-e and it was clean.

It has wifi and an app, which is cool but of questionable value.

Anyhow . . . something to consider if you're in the market.

I received an email about the Cosori recall.

I think mine is affected.

Free replacement.

That would be cool, they came out with those after we got ours, but the one we had worked well enough.

I could see the dual being helpful with the larger sizes.

In theory, the recalled ones are apparently “dual blaze”, but it’s a one-time thing… :wink05:
