Huge shout out and thanks to Joel @ BlackRiver Taxidermy.

This was my 1st game animal and the hide was not worthy of a full rug or shoulder mount so I decided I wanted a Euro. Based on Joel's willingness to share info on how to do a Euro Mount with everyone here I knew it was not something I wanted to undertake I contacted him to do mine.

While he was doing the hard work I asked around and obtained a wood cutout of Idaho to put the mount on, but could not find a good fixture to use to hold the skull.

Got the call from Joel that the Euro was ready, so took what I had down to him and we spent a while looking at options. He came up with the idea as it ended up. Realyl happy with it, just need to find a good place to hang it now!

HUGE THANKS TO:
Joel @ BlackRiver Taxidermy
Cody for the Idaho Plaque
My Buddy Rory for taking a flatfoot out Elk hunting and dragging me around the mtns to learn a little bit about Elk hunting and get my 1st game animal down.

I like how the claws are holding the arrow. That’s a cool touch.

That's pretty badass. I'm personally not much of a Euro mount guy, but the way that whole thing came together is amazing. You should be really proud of yourself if thats your first harvest.

Yeah It was actually an Elk hunt, so bear was not my primary target for the hunt but I had tags for pretty much everything in my pocket, fourth year hunting, something was going down. Given the complete lack of sign of anything in the area when this bear walked thru I didn't even think twice.
Got it on video too.

Yeah, I wish I had thought to grab all four paws on him to use the rest of the claws on the mount. Hornets were very bad over there so I was rushing to get it done, and his hide was not worth taking so I didn't keep them all. :facepalm2:

Yeah I am not biased either way, a full head mount would have been nice. This bear had a nice scar on his nose that would have been cool to have on a mount, but the fur was terrible, thin summer coat not worth doing anything with. I had wanted the arrow vertical on the left held by the claws, but once we had everything inhand it just did not look good. Putting the arrow at an angle really sets it off imo and was all Joel's idea.
I was pretty shocked when I shot him too, def not common to get a bear with a bow as a 1st harvest and I am still shaking my head thinking back on it.
