Yeah, they do pretty much look like morbidly obese squirrels...

I'm jealous! Looks like a blast. :thumbsup2:

We shoot ground squirrels in Yakima with 10/22s, but it's definitely tough to hit consistently beyond 50 yds with bulk ammo, especially with the wind blowing. My cousin brought out a .17 HMR bolt gun a couple years ago, and that thing was SCARY accurate, even at 150 yds. That's next on my list.

Looks like some good shooting. Skin them up and eat a few!
I've eaten them, and they're great. My criteria is :They don't have any signs of disease? Good to cook and eat.
When I was younger, I even skinned a few dozen and tanned the furs. It's a lot of work, and seemed like a more reasonable use of time for a high schooler than it does for a retired-but-still-working-busily old man.

I'll be doing some shooting in Montana this weekend and/or next week, depending on the work schedule. I'll try to find the time to take some pics and cook a few.

Holy crap, that sounds like some serious action! icon_eek :rofl9:

Good shooting there, especially with rimfires. Nice looking rifles too. Tough to beat quality time like that with your Dad.
