Last thursday. Its been all pinks since then for me.Last I went was monday and it was still pink nation.

Now regarding that, there is something up for discussion.

On this river, limit is 6 but you may only retain 2 adults and are done fishing if you do. I believe that pinks are adults as they do not have a definition regarding size so you may only have 2 pinks/kings/silvers total. Rest must be jacks silvers or kings (under 20” and 24” respectively). Is this correct?

“Min. size 12". Daily limit 6. Up to 2 adults may be retained. Release chum and wild Chinook.”

updog, we've been talking but here's the answer

this is from WDFW........

Hi Chris, and thank you for emailing WDFW’s Team Montesano.

The daily limit for that section of the Puyallup river right now states: min. size 12”. Daily limit 6, up to 2 adults may be retained. Release Chum and wild Chinook. You are right, Pink salmon are considered adults and so you could keep 2 Pink, 1 Pink and 1 Coho, 2 Coho, 1 hatchery Chinook and 1 Pink, any combination of 2. The other 4 fish that would be included in that limit would be Jack salmon but once you have caught the adult portion of the daily limit, you must stop fishing. So, the bottom line is 2 adults only, per day.

We hope this helps, and have a good day.

A friend just got some fresh king eggs yesterday for Jack fishing on the Chehalis. Hope I feel up to going next week. :wink05:

It’s been many years since I hammered the banks of the Puy but only for steelhead...

WDFW just made a rule change (see emergency rule change for Puyallup river). You can still only have 6 fish, but now you can have 2 additional pinks.

Example:. 2x jacks, 2x pinks, 2x coho. Out of the 6, only 2 can be coho/chinook adults, but now you can sub 2 more pinks for 2 jacks.

This new rule went into effect today. Also, the Puyallup is now closed for sport fishing on Sun, Mon, Tues. For all Sept/Oct.

Nice, thanks for the heads up.

Still gonna let the pinks stay to keep spawning their evil.

^Yeah, no thanks. I already don't like people enough...that looks like torture to me. I'd rather drive 3+ hours to Westport and pay for a charter than stand shoulder to shoulder in a muddy river. But hey, if that's your game, that's all good - it sure as hell ain't mine!

Opening day tomorrow on the Chehalis, who wants to go fishing??? I’ll have a few more openings throughout this season.
Have all rods, tackle and bait but bring licenses, lunch and rain gear. No booze.
Meet at Friends Landing at 6 am.

I think Lake Washington opens for silvers, north of the 520 bridge tomorrow. Never figured it out consistently. Have got them jigging buzz bombs up around Juanita an Yarrow Pt. and trolling with dodger/hoochie in front of Sandpoint, but never regular enough to get me too excited about going out. Anybody sharing secrets. Have beer, will travel once I get my Honda outboard running smooth.

It was pouring this morning at five when I got up, I almost went back to sleep but got dressed, ate breakfast, made lunch and the clouds parted just like Moses was on my front porch. LOL
I’m now anchored up with plugs out awaiting the incoming tide which is around 11.

No love for Caveman today, I saw 1 king released and no one else got anything, very few seals so the fish are still in the harbor...
