Every evening I see a bunch of these rabbits eating in me garden beds.

They look like your average cottontail, right?

Are these good to eat or should I give it to the dog?

Personally, i like my Yard Rabbits and they are causing no harm. I assume you shot that Rabbit, was it causing a problem?

At first I didn't mind them when it was one or two occasionally, but now I see about 8-10 at a time and they are getting into everything. I just need there to be less of them or to hold their bunny congregations at the neighbors.

Do what you have to do, but my Yard Rabbits haven't caused my gardens any harm and i like seeing them. Having said that, if it's in my Yard and it's pissing me off it's probably gonna get shot.

Now that you have it posted you had better make sure you are not hunting pygmy rabbits

The Pygmy rabbit (Sylvilagus idahoensis)(Fig. 3) is the smallest rabbit in North America, measuring only 11 inches in length. It is slate-gray with a buff-colored tail and is found in the dense sagebrush and rabbitbrush areas of south-central Washington (where fewer than 50 of these rabbits exist)

Definitely not, as I am both not in that region and there are already more than 50 of them here.

won't be much more than a few bites, but why not cook at least the first one so you can get an idea of what the menu will be like here a-teotwawki.

Eastern Cottontail...introduced here in the early 1900's as a game animal. Prolific breeders...imagine that.

They will raise hell on certain vegetable garden and flower bed plants.

Definitely edible, that's why they were introduced.

I’m a firm believer of “If you kill it you should eat it” unless it’s not edible (crow or opossum).

Boil em. Mash em. Stick em in a stew.

Slow cooker while whole!
