Took the boy out to the skookumchuck unit again for late elk deer. Think everyone got the same memo. I pull into the wildlife area and there were about 15 trucks already there before dawn. I get out my truck anyway because I’d rather walk around the wilderness than go shopping. Damn near trip over two muzzle loaders had a convo with them. They were there yesterday too when there was about 150 trucks parked in there because of the turkey day pheasant release. As we were pulling out I saw the pheasant guys start to pull up with their dogs. Might have to rethink a late archery area that isn’t so crowded.

Yup that’s what happen with fishing and hunting up here when the population explodes. Too damn crowded no mater what you are doing, fishing or hunting. icon_eek

Yesterday I spent in my backyard shooting arrows I picked up a cabelas instinct thumb release for 30 bucks at a pawn shop and me and the boy tried it out. I kind of liked it, but didn’t notice much between my trigger release and it accuracy wise. I thought it was a cheap way to see if I liked it since that particular release goes for 163 brand new. I got the garmin etrex30 for my birthday and I just plunked 100 buck down on the hunt chip for it with subscription so I reckon I’ll be doing more homework for some more public land.
