We went out squirrel hunting this morning and Mason shot four of them. We went to another spot and only seen chipmunks. If it doesn't rain tomorrow we will be back at it again early in the morning.
We seen a nice big doe and a yearling then we seen another yearling at another spot.

For sure it did, I love taking him out shooting.
I'd like to get him into some turkeys if we find any.
There use turkeys everywhere around here until the state imported fishers about forty years ago. Now there are fishers everywhere and no small game. That's part of this trip, Fisher trapping opens next Saturday or Sunday.
We will be setting leaning pole sets with conibear traps
Logs crossing creek sets with a conibear trap on the log and a dirt hole set with leg traps on each side of the log.
And dirt hole sets with leg traps.
Fox & coyote open up on Wednesday.

Mason shot another gray squirrel this morning, we seen about fifteen of them, but were a little to far for him to shoot.

We are at a livestock auction to buy a couple of chickens to use the feathers for a sight attractant for trapping.

Mentoring the young to hunt also includes when and when not to shoot. Excellent job Pat.

Mason shot five squirrels and we seen them all fall out of the trees, we could only find four of them.

Good for him.
That reminds me of some duck hunting expeditions, you just can’t find them all, all the time.
