IV taken rabbits with the bow out to thirty, I'm down for a long range shoot  don't know if my small game heads will fly accurate that far...hmmmm

If it was a 4 lb'er at 30, a 12'er at 50 should be easy - Ha!

Oh my, now I'm thinking way too much about this.
We have a zip line that runs the full distance of our pasture front to back, and I have a 22 with a suppressor...... WAY more sporting, no?

Post Kill Report

Cleaned him up and kept him whole in the fridge until two Sundays ago. That day was spent cooking the whole day.

All scraps were broken up with bone in and cracked to expose the marrow.

We grew some squash this year and I roasted one for soup.

The scraps were used to make stock for the soup along with some herbs we grew and jalapeño and other vegetables.

A few hours later we have soup.

The quarters were seasoned and put away during that time. I also made red sauce from tomatoes we grew.

Onions and crimini mushrooms were prepared. The quarters, onions and mushrooms were cooked separated and in butter with a dry white wine.

Pasta was prepared and the soup was served with the white wine.

Red wine was served with the main course.

Dana, that looks AMAZING! I was going to follow up and ask what recipe you had settled on.. Thanks for sharing the details, I will be showing this to my wife with a request to duplicate it! And congrats on all the goodies that were able to come from the garden. Adding that to your successfully hunted meat makes the whole presentation that much better.

I think he’s saying that rabbit is the antidote to wedding cake.
