Want to go out hunting this year for the first time. I’ve done my hunters ed maybe 6 years ago. I’ve been talking to coworkers (bow hunters mostly) and doing plenty of research on other forums. But still having a hard time figuring out how and places to hunt. (Nw Washington maybe eastern wa).

I’m looking to tag along with an experienced hunter to
see how it’s done or find a guide that does day/weekend hunts. I’ll share the meat 50/50. Any body recommend any guides? Or point me to the right direction. Not looking for a throphy, just some meat.

Modern firearm, looking to hunt Deer, Duck and Elk.

Thanks! Pm me if you know anyone.

I was looking for similar help in this thread /viewtopic.php?f=129&t=93550

The TLL;DR from all the discussion seems to be "go on your own but don't be stupid".

So, do we do a n00b hunting squad?

I'm tempted by duck season starting Oct 13th https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/regulations ... dates.html

Got Deer license with discounted small game and 1 deer tag. I'm ready for modern firearms season. You guys geared up and licensed?

This will be my first year since I was 14 in Alabama. Hardly hunting there, you sit in a wooden box and wait. My awesome wife bought me a Green diamond permit this year so I will be doing mostly west Mason county. Will be taking my grandmas 257 ackley. Maybe I should forgo a partner. I like to talk a lot.

I’d love some company on duck/goose hunts. Problem is, my days off work are Sun-Tues.

Let's keep the thread alive. Who can go out on Saturday 10/20? Western washington around Snohomish and/or Skagit. The ones available can exchange numbers and talk about locations. That's the harder part I think.

I went out solo for deer this weekend. It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun. I went to gmu 448 and 437. I saw one grouse but I couldn’t get to it quietly and it flew away. It was a difficult hike and I couldn’t continue on. So if you’re new like me, be in shape or your hunt will end fast and you’ll be stuck driving around. Also pack lightly. I made that mistake by packing too much.
