If you follow me outside of WAGuns you know that I've been a hunting fool since August 1st. WAJim has more colorful way of describing my frequency and I'll leave that for him to explain. So far this year I have not passed up any opportunity to get out and I have done a megaton of hiking, camping, driving, calling, glassing, everything. I passed on a buck that I believed to be out of range during late modern. Besides that, it's been a lot of does during mule deer 3pt minimum season and a lot of other deer out of range or spooked on the stalk. So here it is, December 20th and there's 10 days left in deer season and I haven't notched my tag yet. My question is, "Who's got deer?" If you know that you have deer on your property and they are active during hunting hours, I'd appreciate a shout and permission to hunt. |

Deer are in town. They aren't idiots. For the most part. |

I feel you. It's just the same as asking, "Hey, you want to go hang outside? It's going to be cold, blowy, and rainy all day." Pablo wrote: Deer are in town. They aren't idiots. For the most part. I wonder if Point Defiance is considered legal to hunt. Caveman Jim wrote: My wife has killed 2 deer in two years.......... with her Subaru Impreza..... I shit you not, the last one totaled it!!! Dang....that sucks! Were they tasty? |

You mean 10 days of archery deer season? [1] And further more restricted: Black tailed in GMUs 407, 410-417, 419-422, 454, 505, 564a*, 624, 627, 636, 648, 652, 654, 655, 660-672 up to Dec 31. And mule deer in Deer Area 1021 https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/regulations ... dates.html So, just double checking that you guys aren't getting in trouble using "modern firearms" at this time or next 10 days. |

In today’s world of Creedmoor this and Nosler that “flat to 415” I see way too many shots taken outside of the hunter’s ability level. I hope your good karma nets some meat in the freezer soon. Unfortunately I don’t have an area in mind directly. :( From a dead steady rest I can hit a kill zone sized target at 400yds repeatedly when I'm nice and calm, get some elk/buck fever and a 20lb pack after hiking 1800' up to a ridge, well I just don't know. Perhaps I'll train for that next year. yeah right. I do take a few practice shots every year with sun in my eyes and ghosting into the scope. Thank you. I took the day off and spent it with the YL. Today was a good day. |
