His former owners failed him, and should have trained him EARLY on to have better manner. If they would have, he'd likely be still with us. If I told him to sit, he would. I could walk 30 yards away and he'd stay right where I told him to. Pro Tip: "Stay" is not a command, the dog is either doing what you last him to or he's not. Then I could command, "Come" and he run over and depending on my stance, he knew whether or not to attempt to get the toy or not.    Another coat was applied to both stocks today. The forend received its first coat today. The bottom stock may end up on a gun, however it was originally a practice piece for this finish that came off the gun that had a cracked forend. Today included taking down the Express Super Magnum for degreasing. It will come with a 18.5” barrel and a VR barrel. Both have Remington Mod chokes. You can have both a self defense and hunting shotgun in one package. I don’t know what that coating is on short barrel but it’s ugly.  I’m not in love with the stocks it came with and they aren’t walnut so they will get the Cerakote finish as well. The buttstock has a nice ding in it.  But it’s been smoothed and they are now stripped  I almost forgot to mention that I removed the dimples from the magazine tube on this gun. There isn't a much better finish on Walnut than BLO.
Applied every day for a week. Then every week for a month. Then every month for a year. That's how you build a beautiful BLO finish to a Walnut stock.
