Safari Arms Matchmaster. It came in well loved. It left with purpose. My customer requested the gentle touch of the Black Hammer and I delivered starting with a detailed cleaning. New springs from Wolff. A trigger job which includes all internals polished. Mags drop free under stress. Clearance between the hammer strut and grip safety. Clearance between the dust cover and slide. Barrel throat polished. Front sight dressed and touch up cold blue Super Blue. Polish the barrel hood. Lightly blast the trigger pad. Polish the grip screw heads. Polish the sides of the hammer. Glass bead blast the frame, slide, and all other external stainless steel and aluminum parts. |

Looks like a million dollars now. Got the nasty "before" picture for comparison ? |

Beautiful....It looks like new again. That is a Vintage Matchmaster built by Richard Neimer 30 some years ago restored to (better) than it's former glory. Thanks for bringing it back Dana, i look forward to it's homecoming. |

That's my Safari Arms Pistol above, (yeah, you figured it out) and it's my 3rd 1911 i have taken to Dana for the Black Hammer Touch. I will be picking up that one this weekend and dropping off a couple more for some MSH and Frame blending. Dana has some serious skills people, and his attention to detail is impeccable. I did not lightly hand over that Matchmaster, i waited until i examined the RO and the SR911 Commander after his work. My Review on the work with these Two. ( I am sure i missed some of the touches he put in.) viewtopic.php?f=35&t=87501 If you need a Local (to most) 1911 'smith, he's your man. |

After the Blackhammer's gentle touch i picked up the old Girl today. She is like a new Girlfriend.....I can't stop molesting her. In all seriousness, Dana's work is top notch. His attention to detail is impeccable. He corrected all the deficiencies and returned it to top notch condition and did it in a timely manner. Go see Dana if you need a serious 1911 'smith, i made the mistake of bringing my Springfield RO to another local well known 'smith and he had to correct their errors. Thanks Dana. |
