One interesting thing ... the spring and plunger for the rear takedown spring come straight upwards and are compressed by the pistol grip. It doesn’t come from the rear of the receiver like it does on most lowers.

Yeah, I noticed that. I tapped out the hole with a 4-40 tap and slightly shortened the spring. Then I used a 4-40 Allen head set screw to retain the detent plunger. Its bad enough to lose the safety detent and spring nearly every time I take the pistol grip off. The thought of trying to keep track off another spring and pin was unbearable.

I do the same on the regular style lowers where the rear takedown pin spring and detent come in from the rear. Keeping it captive with a set screw just makes it easier to assemble and take apart without worrying about chasing springs all over the place.

Awesome tip!

There is this thing, it's like magic, I tell you.
You send an order through the electronic ether and using some unholy magic they call "Next Day Air", the things show up at your home.
It's unbelievable. :wagwoot:

I'm not interested in how or where a weapon is made, as long as it does the job it needs to do and I know how to use it.
As long as it fires ammunition and you've got lots of it, that's all you should be concerned about.

Nice work, MadPi.

For that .22, I thought you had made a Han Solo blaster...I suppose you still could.

Stopped by Black Hammer today & grabbed my group buy upper & lower.
It was the first time I had done any business with him.
Dreadi had everything at hand and processed the transfer expeditiously.
A pleasure to do business, as I had expected.

Thanks for setting this up!

Yeah! Shame you live so far out! He may not know it yet, but I'm making him my "go-to" FFL!

Next weekends visits will feature, Oscar the dog. He's taking a vacation from his regular human and staying at the Black Hammer Resort.

This is BS.
Elliot is not happy that Oscar was not present yesterday.
