If you want to try pneumatic I have this cylinder cluttering up my shop. I think it’s got a 35” stroke. 43 1/2” retracted. It’s new, never used. Free if you want it. . .

I ordered from these guys when I needed to replace the struts in my truck tool box: http://www.liftsupportsdepot.comYou’ll have to do some math / design if you’re going to build a door like that pictured. Their web site has tools to help you find the right strut for your application. Pneumatics & hydraulics need power - or a hand pump - to work. Just unlatch for struts to do their thing. Not saying one is better than the other.
