Pick them when they start to dry, they shouldnt have a squishyness. They should be starting to brown a little, slight papery sound when squishing them. Look at some youtube videos.

I have a big bundle of them at the top of my 10' line, they'll be reaching back to the ground by the end of summer.

The last time i dried them i did them on the stovetop held 1/2" off the top of the hot surface, but you can air dry them too, or just throw them in the freezer, they dont have to be dried to use.

We planted a bunch of tomatoes from seeds a while back, and they weren't doing so well, so we bought some starts and got them going in buckets. Then the seedlings hit their stride, so we bought some more potting soil (well, a lot of potting soil), and now they're doing great. We're about to be up to our ears in lots of tomatoes! The ones we planted from starts are starting to ripen, especially the smaller tomatoes, but we've got a bunch of larger slicing tomatoes on their way, and the ones we grew from seedlings, well, they're about a month behind the starts, so we're going to have waves of tomatoes.
