Troubleshooting audio optical

Anyone know how to troubleshoot TV output optical? I can see the fiber optic is lighting up, but no sound. TV output is suspect.
Cable and soundbars work on other TV's, but not the suspect TV. Is there a meter or reader available for low $? _________________ Why does the Penguin in Batman sound like a duck? Because the eagle sounds like a hawk. |

Do you have the TV audio output set to Digital or Optical, or whatever the software calls it? Do you have any other audio output connections made such as HDMI?

@dreadi you gave me an idea. TV has RCA jack (output). Soundbar doesn't.

@dreadi OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS SHIT. I THOUGHT the TV had RCA jack output. NOPE. Does not. Only in. Shit. Cancelled the order in time.
Ah last resort. Has 3.5mm headphone jack out. It works, tested with head Of course none of the soundbars have 3.5mm in. So I search for 3.5mm to HDMI adapter and come up BLANK. Ever seen such a thing? 3.5mm male stereo to HDMI plug out???? _________________ Why does the Penguin in Batman sound like a duck? Because the eagle sounds like a hawk. |
