there's an estate sale in Maple Valley this weekend. (course, I'm a broke-dick-dawg) ... now this estate... feck... I bet this guy was a master crafstman. no only did he have scads of the BEST tools, they look well used and well kept. Here's the link https://estatesales.org/estate-sales/wa ... saledigestNow, usual, everbottle lines up around 5 a.m. for an 8:00 opening on good sales like this. I imagine this one will be a feeding frenzy. Even if you won't go, if you're a tool guy just looking at the sales alert will make your day.

Meh its not all covered with dust so either he did care and kept things clean (I do see the dust collector too) or he didn't do that much work. It is some nice stuff though! But the Obama sticks would have to go

I think a combination of well-cared for and heavy on the lightly used. I'd shop at that sale for sure if I lived closer.

Looks to me that the guy was a cabinet maker by the collection of machines and tools.... Kept his shop clean and organized..... I've seen many that don't.

That is not someone's garage hobby setup, no one buys a slide saw unless you have the space for it and are cutting a lot of 4x8 stock. A good one, when bolted to the floor will hold less than 1/32" deviation over a single 8' cut on a panel. He may have been in a shop on residential property, but definitely a commercial setup, not just making jewelry boxes for fun. That Blum tooling is professional grade cabinet making tooling, primarily for small run/custom cabinet making, primarily "eurostyle" cabinets. Good stuff. Wish I had a bunch of shop space and some $$$....

Here's another one that will be in Oak Harbor. Lots of old relic tools; some worth looking at, some just plain old worn out (I really would like that 1hp craftsman router, for fun) Some are nicer, newer tools. Drill presses, table saws, air filtration systems, planers, jointers, (a Porter Cable bisky-joiner I could use), nail guns, saw blades and dado sets... on and on. He also had STACKS of hard wood planks. Purple heart wood, eucalyptus, mahogany.... https://www.estatesale.com/sales/view/2 ... 801161#galEDIT: BTW, this is an online auction, so you shouldn't have to wade through lines of folks. Bid low and wait. Also: the person posting the photos had tourettes or something and posted one THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED and some odd photos. Many hundreds are duplicates. Look at the thumbnails and go through them that way to save time

Here's another sale. This guy was a manly machinist. There are a ton of old school HEAVY DUTY machines in this shop. I bet the guy was a trade lore treasure. https://www.estatesale.com/sales/view/2 ... bba95b#gal

Wow. While impressive, it honestly makes me sad that this guys life collection (and a small fortune) is just being sold off as a garage sale.

You guys got it all wrong. This one is a gold mine. It has an ice cream station, a reel to reel, AND ammo cans! https://www.estatesales.net/WA/Covington/98042/2024289

This is something I fear and have nightmares over. As a wrench of over 40 years, I've amassed just north of $60k worth of tools, that's Snap-On tools and not counting all the various shit I bought for working on the house, welders, saws, router's, jack's etc, just tools that fit into tool boxes. My nightmares are some sleaze ball buying a gently used $600 torque wrench for $20, or a unused $400 Snap-On buffer/grinder (bought 2 in case one broke, 10 year's ago) for $5, or the half dozen scanners that I update new every few years. I don't think I have enough non Snap-On tools to fit in a shoe box except for a few specialty items like a $1400 rivet gun or machinist tap/dies. Fuck, that shit keeps me up at night. Fuck all you vultures, when I go, don't show up at my house, as my beautiful wife has zero clue what any of it's worth and will sell my entire life for pennies...... Let's not get into my vulture of a son that is talking of having all my weapons and reloading supplies when I go. If I die early, he did it...
