Still working on getting the permits approved, had to do another drawing revision Anyway, I have been working on the landscaping block and dirt This is the back of the pool house Here we are removing the palm tree that we previously relocated, turns out you need to water these trees for a couple of weeks BEFORE digging them up....lesson learned

we built the small deck and stairs for the hot tub this last weekend. Then I cleaned out the hot tub, filled it with water and plugged it in. Took 30 hours to get to 104, but everything works! I ordered a new cover for it, should be here in a couple of weeks After, deck is 3' x 9' next I will stain the deck with a red wood stain, then add a post for hanging towels & robes, then maybe add some reed fencing for privacy on the back wall

quick update on the pool. The wall is now finished, 7 feet tall surrounding the entire pool area. I have been working on landscaping, finding plants that can handle full sun and are salt tolerant. Then amending the soil with mesuite duff, compost, dead grass, bark chips, sand and manure from chickens and cows. I am finally close to getting my final inspection on the pool house (a nightmare that involved FEMA, the Mohave Co Flood Control Dept, the County Building Dept and a surveyor). The pool got really dirty from a couple of windstorms and lack of maintenance, so when I returned from vacation I drained the pool and began cleaning it with muriatic acid and a pressure washer. I got all the calcium build up off the surface. The white stuff is residue from the acid. Then I paid a local water company to bring me water from a neighboring town, which happens to have REALLY good water. No lime, calcium or iron in the water and the salt content is only 200 ppm (my pool was up to 7000 ppm, the ocean btw is 35,000 ppm). Here is the first 4000 gallons 8000 gallons 12000 gallons and 16000 gallons I tested the water and the PH was 7.3, about as close to neutral as you can get. I will be adding acid periodically to combat the alkalinity in the water from the softener system that will be refilling the pool. I should be able to go 3 or more years before the salt level gets high again.
