For a few years, I have been tinkering with a '78 camaro. The new exhaust I'm putting on is going to have a Y-valve that allows the exhaust to be opened and get loud. (Why, because I wanted to) see link:
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/30862/10002/-1?parentProductId=1287065

Since it will be dual exhaust, I got one for each side. The problem is they are meant to fit the drivers side. If I flip one to use on the passenger side, that lever sticking up will be the first thing to get torn off on one of the 4.6 million miles of speed bumps and high curbs here in WA. The solution is easy enough, take the lever out and flip it 180 degrees. I took it to a weld shop and they said they have no way of getting the tig head down into the 2.5" hole. Someone (probably South of Texas) made these things originally, why can't we fix them? If anyone knows of a good welder, I'm looking to pay to get this done. I can probably get it tacked in place with my mig, I just need to get a long grinding burr.

My dad can weld anything. He was a master fabricator and sheet metal worker for over 35 years. If it can be welded, he can weld it. Only issue is if the Tig torch won't fit in the space...it won't fit. Doesn't matter how good the welder is.

im nowhere near a master tig welder but im certed and I have to agree with Tactical on this, tig torches are finicky that way, you do it wrong and your weld turns to swiss cheese

Sounds good, I'm in Everett and don't plan to be south any time soon.

Sig, I looked at those and they were $425 each. More than I paid for the camaro.

I've used a tig before, but only have one good arm now and have only a mig.

You could try Metal Masters in Lynnwood. They've done a lot of work for kitchen/bathroom remodels in my line of work.
