So.. the gun room is getting crowded. Badly. (first world problems I know) There's all the stuff that goes WITH the guns....... ammo, ammo cans, ammo boxes, clips, magazines, scopes, cleaning supplies, extra parts, cases and bags, etc etc etc... SO I bought a jobbox from NWRed (thankee again, kind sir) that was pretty beat but at a good price. Started hammering dents, scraping stickers, grinding on rust, and giving it a coat of rust-convertor goo. Then some paint I'm in the process of getting it lit and sorta planning on layout.

I dig it. I have been working on this problem lately myself. I have been using an old fridge, but that will only work for so long. Flammables cabinets are my dream, but they are pricey. Now you also have a work bench.

Bought a 4 foot ho fluorescent and wired it to an appliances plug so I can plug it in to the power strip. Probly get a goldenrod safe heater thingie tonight and carpet tiles. The carpet tiles will hold velcro to the sides and I'll line the bottom with it after sealing up all the holes in the bottom, in case the basement floods again.
Later on when money is freed up a little I'm going to put in LED strips, both where the fluorescent is now and under the 2 upper shelves.

It would appear that you have a KNAACK for restorations.

It's not really much of a restoration. It's not smooth, straight, nor as shiny as the pics look (it is gloss though, not matte or flat). I hit it with a wire wheel and 400 sanding discs, then the rust convertor stuff. definately not something that would work for any sort of show sort of finish. If it was a car, maaco would make fun of it. lol
It was more of a: repair the worst of the damage from forklifts, neglect, etc.
They're tools that get used pretty hard.

Very nice I have a couple of friends that have used job boxes for ammo but not as nice as this . You should just give me the ammo and you would not have to worry about it

Very, very nice. Congrats. Would you consider a dehumidifier such as a "goldenrod" or similar?
