Here's one for you guys:
I found this inside one of my walls while doing some home improvements. I have no clue what it is. House was built in 1908 and this was at the bottom of an old plaster wall. Thoughts?

It's a plugging chisel. Pretty old. Here are some newer ones.

For removing grout from between tiles. I used to have and use one looked just like your pic.

Here's one that is quite similar at Home Depot:

Due to the mushrooming on the end, I’m thinking it’s a little heavier then grout removal. I have dozens of these cold chisels in various sizes and shapes. They work great for small area and/or tight space work. Here’s a set from Snap-On I found for a quick pic:

I've used a cape chisel to remove broken bolts that are flush with the surface. The action when struck will turn them and not dig into the broken bolt. The offset angle of the head directs the force in the direction of rotation and not skip out or dig in. I sometimes grind a punch with the same scallop to achieve the same rotation action on smaller broken bolts. Not that I break many bolts its just a nice solution to have on hand. That and PB Blaster can work wonders.

I've been carrying these things around for several years and do not know what they were intended for. Something specific? Or made to bend and twist for special jobs? Why the square male drive? The FxF was attached to one when I picked them up at a flea market.
