What are these hooks designed for? ("Cargo restraint." Thanks! haha) Anyone use these and know what they are used to attach to? I've used those on the end of a chain to drag pallets with a forklift when the pallet is facing the wrong direction to lift with the forks.

General tool question.
I am about to add oil to a few hydraulic jacks. I am scratching my head about the specificity of hydraulic jack oil versus regular hydraulic oil, and even standard clean new motor oil. A Google search brings up discussions that almost define Internet Ignorance.
Does anyone know if there is a functional difference between hydraulic jack oil and standard hydraulic oil of the same viscosity?
How about using 10W or even 5W motor oil? I can see how using a thicker oil would not be a good thing because of use in freezing weather... Any other reasons?

Standard hydraulic oil is a 10w, it would work fine.

At any earlier time in my life I would have poured in light hydraulic oil and not thought a thing of it. I just wanted to figure out the difference (if any) between hydraulic oil and jack hydraulic oil. My guess is that there is none except the price of ~$10/gallon versus ~$10/quart.

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.
