FYI . . . free shipping from the Eley website, and no WA sales tax. Better than buying through Amazon.

Okay, this isn't 100% relevant to the thread, but since you bastards sucked me into this hole I'm going to make you suffer. So I ordered the new hose and hose reel last night. Check. Next up, I need to fix the faucet that's dying and leaking. OK, no problem, I don't know shit but I know that I need to remove the two screws on the outside, then go down in the crawl space, find the end of the frost-free faucet, and undo the nut. Easy. So I removed the two outside screws, and then entered that awful crawl space . . . . Every time I go down there, I absolutely hate it. As crawl spaces go it's actually not bad, but it's still creepy and dirty and scary and nasty. So, tactical flashlight in my mouth, I ventured down and made my way towards the shut-off valve for that faucet. As I was going across on my hands and knees, in the dark, through the unknown, something tapped my fucking foot. I whipped my head around, and there was a piece of loose wire that had fallen down from above. I dunno what it was, just some junk wire that fell and hit my shoe. No biggie really, except that I had lost about a year and a half off my life right there. So then onward to the shut-off valve . . . . God dammit. OK, finally made it to the valve, turned it off, no problem. Now to follow the pipe to the faucet so I can unscrew that . . . onward, onward . . . and finally I got to the faucet: Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. So yeah, I won't be ripping any walls or floorboards out. I hope? So back to the outside, and I removed the handle and pulled out the guts. I couldn't pin down exactly which model I have, but I ordered some repair parts (seals, etc.) that I *think* will work. We'll see, wish me luck.

And . . . here we go: That's the Eley reel in "parallel" configuration, with a 75-foot 400 series hose from Water Right in color Cranberry. So far so good. Sadly, the faucet is still fuggered so I can't actually put any water through it. Waiting on more parts for that.

Not that I talked with your girlfriend, or anything, but it looks like you need a bigger hose...

Steve, McLendons is your friend for what you need. You can just buy the whole internal Hose Bib valve there.

When a garden hose gets 3 pages on a gun forum it's a sign of the end of the world. And here I thought I was the one with no life.

I appreciate this thread. I hate buying plastic thingies that won't last, and the Eley hose reels and Gatorhyde hoses are on my shopping list for next spring. I think that my building efforts are finished for the year, but having this in the DIY section will allow it to be found easily. Sweet. Thank you gentlemen.
