So ol Ren got me excited tonight daydreaming about old 100cc saw relics from yesteryear! So I went out to the shop and snapped a few pics of ol 100cc class felling saws from around the 70s, the heyday off powersaw logging and big timber.

First the 056 MagII. Hands down the manliest saw ever. With 94cc and 7hp. The example hanging from the ceiling is wearing one of my old worn out 40” bars. I have a handful of these ol saws hanging around here!

Then there is the ol 051. Older than most trees currently growing on this planet!! Heavier than some oak trees to! About 90cc and 6hp it was a king until the 056s came around!
This one is pictured next to an 056AV Super.

Saw this today -- kinda made me stop and think 'Is this a good idea?' What say all? Interesting if it makes sharpening easier.... which it 'might' --- if you notice the file has no teeth on the top or bottom so it won't grind down into the link and the file hex is higher than the tooth so it gets a good chisel. My guess is that they are probably really proud of this..... $$$$.

Of the ten voices I hear in my head, only three keep telling me NOT to shoot.... Do I go with the majority or common sense?
Does anyone have an still/smith that they can recommend in the north end? I was given an 041 that had a leaky gas tank, and i replaced that, but it still fires and then dies... and i never got around to chasing that
Also what are you guys doing for blade sharpening? my home handyman, electic craftsman blew(broke) all the teeth off the blade it was sent with, and i bought an oregon blade, but it is getting dull.
I'm just banging out firewood from old pallets or occasional logs
